Domestic Violence / Abuse

Protecting You and Your Family.

When a child or an adult is in danger, the court can enter a protection order to secure his/her safe keeping. A court order of this nature can prohibit the accused from contacting the protected individual and/or coming within a certain distance of the protected person or a protected location.

Your Case.

Due to the often highly emotional nature of family law issues, harassment, domestic violence and/or abuse can arise. These acts may necessitate an order of protection for you or one of your loved ones. If abuse has occurred or if you feel immediately threatened by the possibility of abuse, contact our office so that we can assess the situation and help you obtain the appropriate protective order.

The unique circumstances surrounding your case will determine the terms and conditions of the protection order. The attorneys of Bill G. Hall, P.C., stand able, ready, and willing to protect you and your rights.

Orders of Protection.

Our attorneys routinely help victims of physical abuse, emotional abuse, and/or verbal abuse obtain relief in the form of an “Order of Protection from Abuse” or civil restraining order. Such orders come directly from the court and serve to protect victims of abuse, neglect, intimidation, harassment and/or domestic violence from their abuser. These protective orders may also be obtained for child abuse, elder abuse, abuse by a boyfriend/girlfriend, or other family members.

Getting Help.

A victim of domestic violence or abuse may be suffering from intimidation, stalking, sexual abuse, harassment, physical abuse, and/or emotional and mental abuse. Due to the tender nature of these issues, the attorneys at The Law Office of Bill G. Hall, P.C. believes that domestic violence and abuse should be handled with the utmost care, confidentiality, and sensitivity. If you are afraid for your safety or the safety of your children because of a domestic violence situation, we encourage you to speak with a member of our team. You do not have to live in fear. Take positive steps to ensure your family’s safety through appropriate legal action.

Falsely Accused.

Unfortunately, in some domestic relation cases, a party will abuse our court system and fraudulently obtain an order of protection or civil restraining order. Our courts exercise zero-tolerance for this sort of behavior. Our law firm can help you defend against false accusations of abuse, and try to stop the “victim” from abusing the system to achieve other goals.

It is important that you educate yourself regarding the steps you can take to protect yourself from fraudulent claims of domestic violence. Our attorneys are experienced in defending clients who have been wrongfully accused and have an order entered against them based upon false claims.

Our Policy.

Bill G. Hall, P.C. advocates that domestic violence should never be tolerated, nor should false or exaggerated claims be filed to exploit Alabama’s domestic violence laws in order to gain leverage in family law proceedings.

Whether you are the victim or the accused, it is imperative that you seek the legal counsel of an experienced domestic violence attorney.
